Minister's Letter

Dear Friends,

It seems a long time ago now but before I do anything else I must say a word about Christmas. It was great to see that all our services were well attended and it was very interesting to observe that moving the Christmas eve midnight service to earlier in the evening had the effect of doubling the congregation. May the blessings we all experienced travel with us well into 2012.

This year may turn out to be a significant one for many: it’s the Olympic Games in London, the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee, my Silver Wedding; Kristyan and Becky’s wedding and the fellowship will decide whether to retain me as your permanent minister. You may have other significant events going on in your personal lives: if so be blessed and may you find hope.

I believe that if we offer it all to the God who loves us and who knows what we need, (Mt 6:8) we will find that guidance, strength and wisdom which comes from knowing Jesus Christ our risen saviour who will walk every step of the way with us. So I offer this prayer for you to use:

  • God, I offer to you
  • all that I am
  • soul and body, every bit of me.
  • And I rejoice
  • that you ask nothing unreasonable,
  • nothing life-denying or religious,
  • but only what is reasonable and holy and lively,
  • my life in all its fullness.
  • This life I gladly offer
  • and I promise to live it as you give it to me
  • in generosity and openness
  • that good may come
  • and that life may be affirmed.

With Love and peace

Susan
